North Plainfield, NJ—Ed Potosnak, the 2012 Democratic Candidate for United States Congress in NJ's 7th Congressional District released the following statement regarding the victory of Democratic Congressional Candidate Kathy Hochul in NY-26.
New York's 26th District is one of the most Republican Congressional Districts in the state. The seat became open following the sudden resignation of Republican Chris Lee.
"It goes to show that a good candidate, with a well run campaign, even in the toughest district, can win," Potosnak said.
"Voters in NY-26 rejected the Republicans' plan to gut Medicare and turn it into an inadequate voucher program. I'll fight to protect Medicare every day I'm in office." Potosnak concluded.
On June 18th, Congressman Barney Frank will be the keynote speaker at a fundraising event in support of Ed Potosnak's 2012 campaign for Congress in Warren, Somerset County, NJ.
