MOUNTAINSIDE— The New Jersey chapter of the American Federation of Teachers endorsed Ed Potosnak, Democratic Candidate for New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District, at an event with AFT members and retirees. Potosnak, a high school chemistry teacher who taught in Bridgewater and a part time lecturer at Rutgers University for over a decade, has made improving education a centerpiece of his campaign. Potosnak has advocated for increased federal and state commitment to public schools. Potosnak’s opponent, Congressman Lance, voted against the Education, Jobs, and Medicaid Assistance Act, which paid down the deficit while providing $268 million to New Jersey schools to retain or rehire 4,000 New Jersey teachers, as well as hiring more nurses, firefighters and police officers.

NORTH PLAINFIELD--- Ed Potosnak, Democratic Candidate for New Jersey’s’ 7th Congressional District, participated in his first live debate last night. Potosnak and his opponent, Congressman Lance, were invited by the North Plainfield Citizens for Community Rights to debate in front of an audience of over 80 voters. Congressman Lance snubbed the voters of Somerset County and did not attend the debate.

WOODBRIDGE-- Ed Potosnak, Democratic nominee for New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District, is dismayed to learn that Governor Christie has unilaterally cancelled the ARC tunnel transportation project. Potosnak has been an outspoken supporter of the ARC tunnel, while his opponent, incumbent Congressman Lance has actively worked against the project in Congress and here in New Jersey. Studies show that completion of the ARC tunnel would increase home values of those living along the Raritan Valley Line by up to 25% and shave hours of weekly commuting time.

Ed Potosnak, Democratic Candidate for Congress in New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District, held a press conference today at First Light Energy in South Plainfield in support of solar technology and the broad range of high technology companies that call the region home. First Light designs and installs solar panel units for homes and businesses in the 7th district and throughout New Jersey. First Light Energy General Manager Rene Brana said, “"Extending commercial tax credits for alternative energy sources makes sense economically and environmentally. I'm pleased that Ed Potosnak recognizes the importance of making renewable energy sources affordable for families and small businesses in New Jersey."

WOODBRIDGE - Ed Potosnak, Democratic Candidate for New Jersey’s 7th Congressional has accepted invitations to debate in each of the four counties that make up the 7th district. His opponent, Congressman Lance, has accepted a mere two debates including a televised debate being hosted outside the district and a debate in Union County, snubbing voters in Somerset and Middlesex counties as well as his home county of Hunterdon.

Ed Potosnak, Democratic Candidate for New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District, will join with the Rutgers University Glee Club and alumni on Saturday to perform the National Anthem and the Alma Mater before the Rutgers Homecoming Football Game against Tulane University. Ed Potosnak was president of the Glee Club – which was founded in 1872 and is the oldest student run organization at Rutgers.

Ed Potosnak, Democratic candidate for New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District, is pleased that Congressman Lance has reached out to directly confirm his participation in debates. Potosnak has called for one televised debate and one debate in each of the four counties in the 7th district. Full details about the debate schedule are still being determined.
